The period from 30 June to 4 July was an important time for the students to work in groups, clarify their ideas and polish their proposals. During these days, students not only had to overcome barriers including time difference in online communication when working in groups, but also had to complete two cross-pitches on 1 July and 3 July. During the brainstorming sessions, the initial vague ideas were gradually shaped and refined into concrete and feasible solutions with suggestions from the teachers during the two cross-pitches.

学员感想:
Reflections of participants:
Choi Pak Yin:The most exciting part of the Tsinghua GSS is the SDG Hackathon. My teammates come from a very culturally diversified background, while some of them believe in the power of social innovation and some of them believe that the government should take the lead in environmental protection. With all these great ideas coming together, we have figured out a solution that would enhance the engagement of various stakeholders. Thank you, Tsinghua, for hosting this amazing event!
Jorge Enrique Ascencio Damian: Through this Hackathon, I learned a lot of things, especially about the SDGs, and why they are important for our society and future. In the Hackathon I also got the opportunities to work with other international students and propose a sustainable solution towards an environmental problem that is affecting our world. I’m looking forward to applying all the knowledge I got to the benefits of our society. Thank you!
